A Journey Beyond Starfish Villa: Sint Maarten’s Top Sights

Maho Beach

Maho Beach is a beach on the Dutch side of the Caribbean island of Saint Martin, in the territory of Sint Maarten. It is famous for being adjacent to the Princess Juliana International Airport, and is a popular site for tourists and planewatchers, who visit the beach to watch aircraft on final approach landing at the airport, passing only a short distance above their heads.

Parotte Ville Bird Sanctuary

Parotte Ville was first opened on January 1st, 2016. It is a walk-in bird park on the island of St. Maarten. It’s home to a number of exotic birds which include sun conures, ring-neck parakeet, black headed caiques and more. The park also has a Heritage (Family) museum where visitors can see various antique items and a medicinal garden. Visitors receive a guided tour of 30 minutes. Come and Enjoy!

Casino Royale

As the largest gaming emporium on the island of Sint Maarten, Casino Royale reopened its doors in late 2018, a year after Hurricane Irma. Boasting over 21,000 square-feet of gaming, Casino Royale is home to the biggest theater of the region is located at the epicenter of Maho Village – a destination within a destination that redefines entertainment, dining, shopping and gaming in a vibrant resort atmosphere.

Tropismes Gallery

Entering in Tropismes gallery, you know you are in a Fine Arts gallery and not a tourist oriented gift store. Price points are reasonable if looking for that truly unique piece of Caribbean inspired art pr multiple i.e. prints. Tropismes gallery founded by renown painter Paul Elliott Thuleau, has presented more than 20 shows of contemporary Caribbean artists over the past 10 years including painters, sculptors, photographers, art conference and books.

Loterie Farm

Loterie Farm is a private nature reserve where we have several treetop adventure obstacle courses as well as hiking trails. After hurricane Irma, we have rebuilt our pool area as well as repaired our treetop courses. The restaurant and tree-lounge tapas bar has yet to be rebuilt though our kitchen for the pool area has been rebuilt so we are open for lunch . We will reopen for dinner January 2018. We are now open 7 days a week.

Front Street, Philipsburg

Enjoy duty-free shopping throughout the island, with the best deals on jewelry, china, and electronics on Front Street in Philipsburg. Don’t miss the Guavaberry Emporium for unique liqueur. For those feeling lucky, visit the Coliseum Princess Casino. Be mindful of crowds, especially when cruise ships dock. Cancellation Policy

Cancel at least 90 days before check-in and receive 100% of the amount paid.

Cancel between 60 and 89 days before check-in, and receive 50% of the amount paid.

Cancel less than 60 days before check-in and receive 0% of the amount paid.
